Advertising Rate Card

Rates

Black-and-white: £495 for 1 insertion or £445 each for 4 insertions within 12 months.

Two-colour: £662 for 1 insertion, or £595 each for 4 consecutive insertions.

Four-colour: £945 for 1 insertion, or £850 each for 4 consecutive insertions.

5% discount for agents or publishers.

All prices are subject to VAT at the current UK rate (17.5%)

Copy requirements

Trimmed page size: 275 x 210 mm

Maximum text area: 225 x 176 mm

Electronic copy: Acrobat PDF file with all fonts embedded; supply on floppy disk, Zip disk or CD, with a hardcopy for reference.

Hardcopy: Camera-ready artwork required (photochemical transfer or bromide), same size as advert. If a negative is supplied, it should be litho film right-reading emulsion down, same size as advert.

Half-page advertisements are not accepted.

Copy deadline

Copy must be received by the second Monday in the month 2 months prior to publication (e.g. March for May).

Online advertisement specifications

• Screen size: 220 pixels wide x 40 pixels high

• File format: Interlaced, non-transparent, gif (name must end in '.gif')

• File size: 20k maximum (ideally, less than 10k)

• Bit depth: 5-bit color maximum

• ALT Text: A very short (less than 5 words) description of the ad for people who have image-loading turned off or are using a browser that doesn't display images.

• NOTE on animated gifs: They must not loop at all. They must play one time and then stop. (Some browsers do not recognize 'loop N times' and they loop forever.) Keep in mind that for browsers that do not support animated gifs, only the first or last frame will be displayed (depends on the browser).
